چکیده
The contribution investigates new methods and tools for design of next-generation telematic systems based on hybrid teams of cooperating robots and humans. The contribution presents selected issues of building the feature of presence in such telematic systems, deals with humanrobot integration and cooperation issues together with drawbacks and benefits of the technology in question. The presented approach is focused onto investigation of a search and rescue type of tasks and provides evaluation of results obtained in proof-of-concept kind of experiments.

Mobile Robots for Search and Rescue
Mobile robots are integrated into a search and rescue team as tools for searching victims in dangerous areas that is harmful for human, as to provide the perception data for map building, and as to follow the human entity during the mission. The teleoperated control and the autonomous path following is implemented on the robots for the semiautonomous navigation in the simulated firing scenario....
متن کاملArchitecture for a remote diagnosis system used in heavy-duty vehicles
The diagnosis system of a Scania vehicle is an indispensable tool for workshop personnel and engineers in their work. Today Scania has a system for fetching diagnostic information from field test vehicles remotely and store them in a database, so called remote diagnosis. This saves the engineers much time by not having to visit every vehicle. The system uses a Windows based onboard PC in the ve...
متن کاملApplying CSCW and HCI Techniques to Human-Robot Interaction
This paper describes our approach for human-robot interaction (HRI) research and summarizes our progress to date. We have concentrated on HRI in urban search and rescue (USAR) because it is an example of a safety-critical application. We analyzed the performance of robotic teams at two USAR robotics competitions using adaptations of techniques from the human-computer interaction (HCI) field and...
متن کاملToward the Human-Robot Co-Existence Society: On Safety Intelligence for Next Generation Robots
Technocrats from many developed countries, especially Japan and South Korea, are preparing for the human–robot co-existence society that they believe will emerge by 2030. Regulators are assuming that within the next two decades, robots will be capable of adapting to complex, unstructured environments and interacting with humans to assist with the performance of daily life tasks. Unlike heavily ...
متن کاملEnergy Dissipation Rate Control Via a Semi-Analytical Pattern Generation Approach for Planar Three-Legged Galloping Robot based on the Property of Passive Dynamic Walking
In this paper an Energy Dissipation Rate Control (EDRC) method is introduced, which could provide stable walking or running gaits for legged robots. This method is realized by developing a semi-analytical pattern generation approach for a robot during each Single Support Phase (SSP). As yet, several control methods based on passive dynamic walking have been proposed by researchers to provide an...
